After a successful acting career and dominating the screens in the 2000s, Zinta took a hiatus from Bollywood following her move to Los Angeles after marrying Gene Goodenough. However, she’s now poised for a comeback with her film Lahore 1947.

During a recent AMA session on X, fans inquired about her future career plans, with some specifically asking about a political engagement. One fan expressed admiration, saying, “You are truly a ‘Soldier!’ Just curious, any plans to join politics?” Zinta promptly responded, “No! No politics for me. Over the years, various political parties have offered me tickets and Rajya Sabha seats, but I have politely declined because it’s not what I want.”

She elaborated, saying, “Calling me a soldier is not entirely off-base since I am a soldier’s daughter and a soldier’s sister. We fauji kids, or army brats, are wired differently. We are not defined by North Indian, South Indian, Himachali, or Bengali identities; we are simply Indians 🇮🇳. Yes, patriotism and national pride are in our blood. If you know, you know Ting!”

Preity Zinta Calls Social Media Toxic

In response to another question about her views on politics after experiencing an attack by a political party, Zinta stated, “I’m surprised at how toxic social media in India has become, where every comment and observation is politicized. I’m not a politician, nor am I interested in politics, but as a normal person, I find this deeply disturbing. However, I’m also not someone to be easily bullied—if anyone tries, they’ll be in for a rude shock.”

Meanwhile, Preity Zinta is looking forward to her return to the big screen in Lahore 1947, alongside Sunny Deol. The film, which is being produced by Aamir Khan Productions. It has generated significant buzz, especially after director Rajkumar Santoshi announced that AR Rahman and Javed Akhtar would also contribute to the project.
